BEST FOR
RAMBLERS
The Coal Exchange,
Emsworth,
Hampshire
This harbour-side pub is a favourite stop-off point on one
of the South's most popular walking trails.
The coastal journey follows he Solent Way, a 60-mile
footpath linking Milford-on.- ;ea in the New Forest with
Emsworth. An alternative route is the Wayfarer's Walk, which
extends 70 miles between the coast near Portsmouth to
Emsworth, along in everything from coastal mudflats to the
highest downland in southern England.
The Coal Exchange is a great place to fortify yourself
before you start, or to rest our weary legs after a long
day's trek. You may even be served your pint of Fuller's
organic Honey Dew beer by one of the three barmaids who
recently appeared in their own saucy
calendar to raise money for charity.

The end of Butser

Fullers have ceased brewing Butser. This has
left HSB as the only reminder of brewing in Horndean. (Fullers bought
the Gales Brewery in late 2006 and closed it last year.)
Tell Fullers what you think of this.

The Chancellor of the Exchequer has
been barred from every pub in a Cumbrian town after putting the cost
of a pint up in his latest budget.
Landlord members of the Kendal Bar Watch scheme voted unanimously to
ban Alistair Darling despite the fact he has never been spotted in
the town.
They have accused him of "threatening and anti-social behaviour" for
putting up the price of drink.
They will now write to Mr Darling informing him of their decision.
They will also ask him to send a photograph of himself so security
staff will know what he looks like.

An example which Emsworth Landlords would do well to follow!

Chimney fire at flood-hit Emsworth pub
The Lord Raglan hit by floods ten days ago suffered a chimney fire late
morning today (Saturday, March 22).
Police closed Queen Street to traffic as two fire appliamces tackled the
blaze.
On March 10, open fires in the popular waterside pub were put out by rising
seawater as the mill pond overflowed due to a combination of strong winds
and spring tides and the ground floor was flooded.

The Blue Bell
The
Blue Bell has become the first establishment in
Emsworth to sign up to the
Chicken
