The Yew Tree is located in the sleepy village of Stoke on the main
road to Hayling Island.
Full of Olde Worlde charm with its pleasing antiques littering every
wall and ceiling you can sit and speculate for hours what use some
of the items have had in the past.
The Yew tree is extremely popular with the locals affording a friendly
and often jovial atmosphere to all standing around the bar area.

Large family pub right next to the
Ferry from Hayling across to Portsea Island. Indoors there are three
main areas, all linked. The restaurant and small children's play
area leads through to the games area, where the pool table sits, and
finally the 'public bar' area to the rear. Excellent views of the
riptides at the mouth of Langstone Harbour, and ideally located for
a walk along the beach.

An excellent range of beers (including those from Ringwood Brewery
and a fine menu. The skittle alley can be prebooked and there is an
attractive garden to the rear adjacent to the headwaters of the
River Ems - very close to its source here. For the more energetic
this is a good starting and/or finishing point for walking in the
Downs. Excellent food. Unfortunately not open all day. |

The Partridge Inn
Rating:
Traditional old village pub,
known for 300 years as The Fox & Hounds, which has recently been
sympathetically extended to provide a large bar opening onto the
garden. The two small cosy bars are now a restaurant area and there
is an additional eating area adjoining the new bar. Log fires in
winter. Owned by Fullers with a range of guest ales. |
